ATLAS MINI 3-CHANNEL R/C HELICOPTER

Three is almost always better than two. It's true with donuts, gigabytes of memory and of course R/C helicopter channels. Now Silverlit, the company who originally created the small R/C copter fad has released a new easy-to-fly 3-channel copter. Traditionally small R/C copters can't hover in place and are always moving forward slowly. Now with the addition of a third channel in the Atlas copter from Silverlit you can control the forward motion of the copter in addition to right/left rotation and moving up/down. Hover, move foward slowly, move forward quickly... it's up to you. We have to say this is one of the easiest small r/c copters to control and fly... and trust us we have tested out dozens of different mini copters... all in the name of science of course.

Silverlit uses an innovative system to control the forward motion of the Atlas. A real full-size helicopter can change the pitch of the blades dynamically as they rotate around. By pitching the top rotor blades differently as they move towards the front and rear of the cockpit, forward motion can be achieved. Surprisingly the Atlas uses a similar system in a mini simplified format. A tiny electromagnet inside the body of the copter attracts a swash plate causing the top rotor blades to pitch forward and propel the the Atlas across your living room. When the magnet shuts off, the blades go back to normal orientation and the copter hovers.
